Save The Orphans Whilem Marie Foundation was founded in Vancouver British Columbia in 2011 . The initiative came after the death of Whilem Kitsongo Masinda and Kavira Marie Mughenderwa in 2011 after immigrating to Canada in 2007. Back in D.R.Congo, Whilem and Marie were actively engaged in their community by helping orphans pay tuition fees and helped many vulnerable women pay for maternity and health care cost without which patients were not allowed to go home .
The D.R.Congo has been devastated by a 20 year war, which has killed more than 8 million people. Among the estimated 8 million killed people are more than 4 million orphans who need education, shelter, protection and health care .
By opening the charity after their names it is a way of honoring them by continuing their legacy .
A world in which every child attains the right to survival needs, protection, development and participation.
To inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats orphaned children by Congolese war and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their day to day lives whether at home or in displaced refugee camps.
Respect and Dignity - We treat each other with fairness and respect .
By donating US $50 , you pay for a full academic year tuition fees per child as these orphaned children by a 2 decade war have no close family members left behind. So the time to do something is now for their education and other basic needs.
